HOW AN ELECTRIC FENCE BARRIER WORKS

An electric pulse (current) will travel from the energizer through the live (hot) wires. The current flows through the animal at its contact point on the fence. The current then travels into the ground and will seek a return path via the earth spikes back to the energizer. This completes the electrical circuit and the animal is shocked. The circuit is completed almost instantaneously. The shock creates an unpleasant memory and thus a psychological barrier that most animals recall very quickly and for a long period of time. Eating alone in a restaurant like cattle out on the range

I find myself in Brazil tonight eating alone in a restaurant. It remind me of seeing lonely cattle along the road in New Mexico. So isolated and with no human contact. Cattle need training if you plan to keep them in using an electric fence. I have seen many wild cattle that may have only seen humans a few times. Be on guard for cattle with little human interaction.

Regional Alabama Extension Agronomist, spoke at the Southern Peanut Farmer Federation conference in Panama City, Florida on July 23, 2010 and reported on the great research progress being made by utilizing the Mega Electric Fence to control the exploding proliferation by hogs, pigs, and deer in peanut, cotton, and corn fields. Note that Cyclops Super Battery energizers and solar panels were used to protect the crops.
