The drinking baffle and insulated thermacap design of this product ensures that it remains cold-free even in temperatures as low as -20°F below zero. Made of strong polyethylene, it is rust-resistant and suitable for small calves, sheep, and other large animals. The combination of the drinking baffle and underground air temperature of 45°F - 48°F prevents freezing with minimal animal usage. The rounded corners enhance animal safety and durability. It features a non-corrosive 3/4" Non-Siphoning plastic water valve and a 3/4" PVC shut off valve for gravity flow or pressurized systems. The high-density urethane foam insulation allows it to function effectively in extreme cold weather without wasting water. Proper installation, including an adequate heat well under the mounting base, is crucial for optimal performance, especially in outdoor settings. Consider installing an electric line along with the water line for additional support if needed.
