An electric fence is a type of fence that transmits electric shocks toward anyone who touches it. In the past, this was done by running a wire from a generator to the fence, but now there are non-electric versions with enough voltage automatically sent from the battery to shock anyone who touches it.
In order for an electric fence to work most effectively, you need two wires with an electrified high voltage pulsed through them. One wire carries the current and is attached to a grounded terminal near where people would touch or step on the other wire.
